Poundland is selling rare Nestlé chocolate that’s like discontinued bar from 90s

Chocolate fans were left feeling distraught in November 2023, when Nestlé announced a staple of many 90s and 00s childhoods was being axed.
After almost 60 years on the market, the chocolate brand discontinued Animal Bars – a nostalgic milk chocolate treat that featured two different named animas moulded onto the surface.
But it seems for those still missing their fix, there might be an alternative to enjoy. A rare Nestlé product has hit shelves in the UK, and we can’t help noticing it looks a lot like the old favourite.
Poundland customers have spotted that the bargain retailer has been selling £1 packs of Nestlé Jungly Figuritas, which are a sweet treat imported from Spain.

Like Animals, the Jungly chocolate is shaped into various wild animals, including lions and crocodiles, however these are individual pieces, instead of a bar.
The other big difference between the discontinued version and these is that the Jungly figures contain biscuit pieces, as well as milk chocolate.
A product description on the Nestlé Family Club website says: ‘This bag contains figurines in the shape of milk chocolate animals and pieces of JUNGLY biscuits. 100% sustainably grown cocoa selected through Nestlé Cocoa Plan. Rainforest Alliance certified.’
And there are several different versions of the treat sold in Spain, including a chocolate bar version which comes in milk, white and dark chocolate options.

According to posts online, the bars have previously been available to buy in the UK as well in Heron Foods and Farm Foods.
Images of the bars have circulated on Facebook, causing Brits to reminisce about the long-lost Animal chocolate.
‘OMG they remind me of animal bars,’ proclaimed Emma Murphy, as Rikia Uwu said: ‘Animal bars!! OMG I used to love them!! Six years ago I would just get a slushy and them when out.’
In other chocolate news, Cadbury recently unveiled the first product in its partnership with Lotus – a Cadbury Dairy Milk Biscoff bar.
Terry’s Chocolate Orange also launched a new treat for Easter that some say is even better than the original, and a discontinued 90s favourite has finally made a comeback.
